How are donations generated?
Each time someone uses WeddingChannel.com to buy you a gift from one of the registries that we know belong to you (i.e. listed on your account), WeddingChannel.com will make a donation to your selected charity. WeddingChannel.com works with the I Do Foundation (a national nonprofit organization) to pre-screen the charities that are included in this
program and to send the donations to each charity. There is absolutely no cost to you or to those who buy wedding gifts for you on WeddingChannel.com. WeddingChannel.com pays for the entire donation as our way of saying thank you for using our service.

How much is donated to my selected charity?
Your charity will get more money as more gifts are purchased for you through WeddingChannel.com. The actual donation is based on a percent of the registry products purchased through WeddingChannel.com (excluding taxes and shipping) as detailed below:
For 1-5 gifts, WeddingChannel.com will donate .20% of each gift amount.
For 6-10 gifts, WeddingChannel.com will donate .45% of each gift amount.
For 11-15 gifts, WeddingChannel.com will donate .70% of each gift amount.
For 16-20 gifts, WeddingChannel.com will donate 1% of each gift amount.
For 21-25 gifts, WeddingChannel.com will donate 2% of each gift amount.
For 25+ gifts, WeddingChannel.com will donate 3% of each gift amount.

Are any fees deducted from the donated percentage?
No. One-hundred percent of the donation amounts listed above will be sent to your selected charity. WeddingChannel.com pays a separate additional fee for each gift to cover the costs to administer this program.

When will the charity get the donation?
Six months after the wedding, your charity will receive a check for all the donations generated through WeddingChannel.com. Since wedding gifts are often purchased after the wedding, we wait six months to give your charity the chance to reach the highest donation percentage possible. No donations will be made for gifts purchased beyond six months after your wedding date.

Will the donations be tax deductible to gift givers?
No. Since WeddingChannel.com is making the donation, neither the couple nor the gift giver can claim it as a tax deduction.

Can I choose more than one charity?
You may only choose one charitable organization as the recipient of donations raised from your registry.

Can I choose a charity that is not on the list of approved charities?
You may only choose a charity that is part of WeddingChannel.com's approved list of charities. We provide over 100 charitable organizations to choose from so that you can find a charity that is personally meaningful to you.

How do I register for gifts at WeddingChannel.com partner stores?
You can register at a WeddingChannel.com partner store either online or
in-store. If you create your registry in-store, you need to make sure
it's part of your WeddingChannel.com account so we know to count all
gifts purchased from it toward your charity donations. Click here to see

Can I have more than one gift registry in this program?
Yes. You can register with as many WeddingChannel.com partner stores as you would like, and we will make a donation whenever anyone uses WeddingChannel.com to buy you a gift from any of your registries.

If I already have a registry with a WeddingChannel.com partner store, can I still have a percentage donated to my chosen charity?
Yes, just make sure it's part of your WeddingChannel.com account so we
can keep track of the donations. Click here to see if we have all of

How can my guests find my gift-registry choices?
Tell your family and bridal party to send everyone to WeddingChannel.com to look for you, or use our "tell a friend" email to spread the news about your registry and favorite charity. Remember, WeddingChannel.com will make a donation when anyone uses WeddingChannel.com to find your registry and buys you a gift through our site. We will not make a donation for gifts purchased in-store or via the retailer's own website.

What if I have a registry with stores that are not WeddingChannel.com partners?
We're sorry, but only gifts purchased through WeddingChannel.com partner
stores through WeddingChannel.com will count towards the Charity

What does the "powered by I Do Foundation" symbol mean?
WeddingChannel.com has partnered with the I Do Foundation to make this program possible. The I Do Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC, whose mission is to encourage charitable giving at weddings. The I Do Foundation screens all of our nonprofit recipients to ensure their good standing with the IRS. Six months after your wedding, Wedding Channel will send your donations to the I Do Foundation, which will then pass 100% of the donations on to the charity of your choice.
