After pulling off a romantic Thanksgiving proposal in front of both of their families, Jamie Mazzei knew he wanted his wedding to Violet Lelekakis to be a non-traditional affair. Since both bride and groom were set on an exciting, party-like atmosphere, they decided to follow their Greek-Orthodox ceremony at the Holy Trinity church in Manhattan with a stunning reception they'd design themselves -- down to the last detail.
Collaborating with event planner Larry Scott, the couple transformed an empty, brick loft in Long Island City's Metropolitan Building into an exotic fantasy. Large columns of bamboo were twisted with miniature white lights, while smaller stalks created a dramatic focal point for lush centerpieces overflowing with orchids and roses. From selecting the flowers, to handpicking the furniture, Jamie and Violet had a hand in every beautiful element of their reception... an unforgettable couple and an unforgettable night.
