It's all about being in the right place at the right time. Teru Bower and Alex Clavel met, of all places, at a wedding (he knew the bride, she was friends with the groom). At the end of the reception, Alex used his charm and sense of humor to persuade Teru to go out with him and they've been together ever since.
Alex proposed in December 2003 and the couple decided on a short engagement. New York's grand Metropolitan Club was their ideal reception location, but it is routinely booked a year in advance. As luck would have it, a cancellation occurred and they were able to book their dream site.
Just four months after they were engaged, on a rainy day in April, the couple was wed at St. James' Church. The 200 guests who flew in from all over the world were then treated to an exquisite reception at a site boasting gorgeous Central Park views. In spite of the rain, the couple has just one word to describe their day--perfect.
