Note to all you brides-to-be: If you choose to have your wedding at a gorgeous California venue during the summertime, do not expect to receive many response cards declining your invitation.
Andrea, a buyer for WeddingChannel.com's Wedding Shop, and her husband, Jason, can vouch to this fact. After selecting Villa Toscana at Martin and Weyrich winery in Paso Robles for their wedding, they received positive responses from 180 people--almost everyone they invited! Since all of their guests would be coming from out of town, they decided against a traditional rehearsal dinner and instead invited everyone to the Paso Robles Inn for cocktails and prime rib the night before the wedding. It proved to be a fun way to kick-off the wedding festivities, and everyone had a blast while dining outside on a lovely 80-degree evening.
Unfortunately, the following day's weather was not so lovely--it was 105 degrees outside at the start of the ceremony. While people were sweaty and the cake a bit lopsided due to melting fondant, the heat didn't dampen anyone's spirit. The temperature fell as the night wore on, and by the time the newlyweds and their guests were dancing to "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" under twinkle-light-wrapped olive trees, the heat had been forgotten, and all 180 people were focused on celebrating Andrea and Jason's love.
