Although they had known each other since elementary school, it wasn't until the summer before their final year of high school that Tara Jaramillo and Michael Balestreri began to see each other as more than friends. Eight years later, on a trip to Arizona, Michael followed a breathtaking mountain sunset with a surprise proposal at a favorite Italian restaurant.
The couple's traditional Catholic ceremony began with what would be Tara's favorite wedding moment: walking down the aisle with her father while Michael awaited her at the altar. A display of family wedding photos from different generations brought laughter and tears during the cocktail hour, while the black-tie reception at the Fairmont Hotel was the height of elegance. Tara and Mike danced their first dance as husband and wife to the Etta James standard "At Last" -- the perfect representation of the very long journey that finally brought the two of them together.
