Myra Banzuela & Tung Tu

Myra and Tung were mere acquaintances for an entire year before Myra got a job at the restaurant owned by Tung's family - and after spending time working together, the casual acquaintances became a couple. After five years together, Myra was thrilled to receive an amazing half-day at the spa offered as a promotion from a local hotel -- or so she thought. Upon completing her treatment, she was escorted to a hotel suite where Tung -- outfitted in a tuxedo -- was waiting beside a cocktail table covered with roses and puzzle pieces. When Myra put the puzzle pieces together, they formed a picture of Tung -- again in a tuxedo -- down on one knee presenting an engagement ring beneath the words, "Myra, will you marry me?" Tung then duplicated the scene on the puzzle in person, dropping to his knee and presenting the beautiful ring in the picture.
A traditional Catholic-Filipino church ceremony was held, including rituals such as the blessing of the coin, sharing the veil, and sharing the cord. It was followed with a cocktail hour and the reception at the Hyatt Regency Reston, where the decor was designed to have an Asian-Tropical feel created with the use of specialty orchids, bamboo, and other tropical flowers in shades of red and orange. The couple had several clothing changes including traditional Vietnamese wedding garments and formal Filipino attire to honor their heritage. Since families were both fans of ballroom dancing, the spotlight dances were pre-choreographed dance routines that brought the house down! The wedding day was perfect from the initial walk down the aisle, to the carefully choreographed first dance -- the perfect ending to a casual friendship.
