Coco Jones and Dimitrios Papadogonas
October 10, 2007
San Francisco, CA -- Las Vegas, NV
A beautiful bride, a handsome groom... and a Virgin America airplane full of passengers. The scene of Coco and Dimi's wedding was anything but ordinary; and yet, their ceremony was surprisingly timeless.
Coco and Dimi were already engaged and planning to wed in the future, around the time of their daughter's first birthday. But when Dimi (director of marketing for Virgin America) was offered the opportunity to hold the wedding on the airline's first flight to Las Vegas, he and Coco agreed to move the date up -- by eight months.
When the couple arrived at SFO, balloons, champagne, music, and the press were waiting for them, and as they mingled and posed for photos, the owner of Virgina America arrived to perform the ceremony himself. Once the flight was in the air, Coco walked down the "aisle" to the song "Love Is In The Air," and Sir Richard Branson began the ceremony. The vows the couple exchanged were very traditional, and so was the look on Coco's face as she became Dimi's wife. "I've never seen her look at me like that before," Dimi recalled later that evening. And we've never seen a lovelier couple, or a wedding with more love than the one that took place among the clouds. Literally.
