I've always thought weddings were the grandest occasion and hoped that mine would be a lavish event. But when I began working as an intern at WeddingChannel.com, my love for nuptials truly transpired as I interviewed my first bride for a Real Wedding. Years have passed and now, as Assistant Editor, I've had the honor of being a small part of thousands of wonderful weddings - by offering brides awesome advice, tips, and resources.
Now it's my turn to tell the story of my own Real Wedding and I'm thrilled to share it with you all!
When I first met Aaron, he was replacing my position at the retail store where we both worked while attending college. I can distinctly remember being annoyed by his presence because he having taken my place in the store meant I had to travel to a store that was located further than I wanted to drive. Despite my obvious glares, Aaron remained his charming and polite self. Four years later we both realized that he had not only taken my retail position, but he had also kept my heart.
As Aaron drove to my house for breakfast one morning, he nervously recited how he would ask me to be his wife. Mean while, I had no idea what would be awaiting me over the kitchen table. Shortly after we began eating, Aaron started to describe how much he loved me and that he had waited for me for a very long time. He dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him. I was in complete shock, and whispered "yes" through tear-brimmed eyes.
I had always dreamt of a fall wedding and soon we began planning our wedding for October - a mere six months away! We decided on a classic wedding, with retro elements and vivid fall colors strewn throughout. Aaron and I relished the view from our hilltop sunset ceremony and our 230 guests loved when we went from dancing a romantic cha cha to an 80's style break dance!
