Shirin Trehan & Saddad Toor
October 15, 2006
New York, NY
After eight years of courtship, Saddad proposed to Shirin on a gorgeous December night at Rockefeller Center. She immediately accepted and began planning their wedding, along with the help of her mother and sister.
The ceremony and reception took place at the Tribeca Rooftop, as they both loved the outdoor/indoor space, as well as the amazing view of the Hudson River. The couple knew they wanted to blend Indian traditions along with their American upbringing, so they joyously incorporated the baraat (when the groom rides on a horse with guests), a doli (sending off of the bride), and Shirin even went shopping in India for her dream lehnga (traditional wedding outfit).
Shirin and Saddad spent most of their perfect day on the dance floor along with their 210 guests, before riding off into the night on their cycle rickshaw decorated with Indian garlands.
