Sharon Van Der Wende and Patrick Hickey
May 3, 2008
Alexandria, VA

It was just a matter of time before Sharon and Patrick crossed paths. As consultants, they had clients in the same building, but for years the two had never been introduced. When their chance meeting did finally come, both their lives were changed forever.

Sharon and Patrick spent most of their relationship dating in Alexandria and DC, so when Pat proposed to Sharon it just made sense to select venues within the cities they loved for their wedding.

"We had always envisioned an outdoor reception in the spring: something picturesque, with green foliage and bright flowers." The couple made their vision come to life. They hosted a formal ceremony at Holy Rosary Catholic Church followed by an elegant outdoor reception at Collingwood Library & Museum. Their guest list was intimate with 60 of their closest friends and family in attendance. The color palette consisted of apple greens and bright pink accents. Guests dined with a view of where the rolling hills meet the Potomac river's edge, and danced into the evening. Whisked through a maze of colorful sparklers, the couple drove away waving "adieu" as husband and wife.
