Betsy Dager and Steve McBride
September 2, 2007
Los Altos, CA
Betsy and Steve first met while both were out with friends, and their love connection was practically instant. Before long they were spending all their time together and settling in with each other's close friends and family circles. During the Christmas season, the couple held off opening gifts until Steve returned from his trip to Canada. After all the gifts had been opened, Steve told Betsy that he had one more gift for her. He presented her with a beautiful custom-designed engagement ring, dropped to his knee, and asked her to be his wife.
The wedding was held just before sunset in the lovely outdoor garden of the Los Altos History Museum. The decor was fresh and simple, keeping with the garden theme and using the rich autumn color palette. Small buckets of beautiful flowers hung along the aisle, and the table settings featured leaf-shaped bottles of maple syrup and maple leaves in the centerpieces (a nod to the groom's Canadian heritage). Their favorite way to spend an evening is with a big group of friends around a dinner table with good food and wine, laughter, and interesting conversation, so they plan their reception around that theme. Their wedding celebration was perfect, and the couple's love for one another shined throughout the day.
