Born in Japan, raised in Europe, schooled in New York, and apprenticed in Paris, couture designer Erisa is a blend of international sophistication, American sensibility, impeccable taste and exceptional design talent.
The niece of renowned bridal designer Yumi Katsura, Erisa honed her skills working behind the scenes in the luxurious world of Paris haute couture at the House of Balman and at New York's Parson's School of Design.
At 32, Erisa lives and works in New York, creating designs for Yumi Katsura, New York. She is dedicated to "bringing to life a bride's vision of beauty," and because her studio is in the Yumi Katsura boutique on Madison Avenue, she can enjoy working one on one with many brides.
To Erisa's credit, New York Magazine recently featured two of her modern designs, calling them "pure panache." When Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci married in 1996, she wore a Yumi Katsura gown designed by Erisa. Actress Demi Moore also wore a Yumi Katsura gown when she wed actor Bruce Willis.
