Widely regarded as the most influential designer of luxurious wedding
gowns, Vera Wang has spent more than 25 years in the fashion industry.
Educated at Chapin, Sarah Lawrence and the Sorbonne, Ms. Wang began her distinguished career with a 16-year tenure as senior fashion editor at Vogue. From Vogue, she went on to serve as a design director for Ralph Lauren, and in 1990, ventured out on her own, opening a salon in Manhattan's Carlyle Hotel. Her bridal collection quickly took off, earning praise from the fashion elite and sophisticated brides for its luxurious fabrics, exquisite detailing and contemporary interpretation of classic lines.
The Vera Wang bridal, evening, ready-to-wear, fur, and footwear collections
are sold in the flagship Carlyle Hotel boutique on Madison Avenue. Ms. Wang has also opened a second Madison Avenue store, dedicated to her bridesmaids collections. The Vera Wang collections are also sold at Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys New York, Jeffrey, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom and other specialty stores around the world.
